what to pay attention to when immersing
as someone whos been immersing for 4 years, i dont think its as simple as "just watch anything and you'll magically learn it". you do actually need to know what to do when you're watching. or you could just be hearing gibberish for hours and get nothing accomplished. which can happen (I know from expirence) parse the words, just hear different sounds spot what you know and don't know understand single words then spot easy expressions (i.e I drew a picture) understand how to modify expressions (i.e I drew a picture of a dog) you wanna get to the last step as soon as humanly possible (either stay in 1 field like romance or reduce the difficulty to shonen or something) thats what the langauge actually uses, thats how you understand how it works without being confused by new words. its why a 3 year old can be fluent, by knowing like 150 words when there's like 10k that adults know.. then after a while of spotting them again and again, the expressions just become ...
